Curved text comes in very handy especially when you're designing round logos and buttons. A lot of people wonder how it's done so today I'm going to show you with this beginners tutorial. I thought since we're using paths we should use the ultimate vector software available, Adobe Illustrator. So here's how to get text to curve around a circle in Illustrator. Let's go!

STEP 1.
Draw a circle.

STEP 2.
Choose the path text tool from the text sub-menu.



STEP 3.  
In the paragraph palette (Window > Type > Paragraph or control + M) set the justification to center and click on the top center of the circle to set the center of the type. You may need to use the "I" handles to rotate the text back to the top.
   
STEP 4.  
Type the top text.

   
STEP 5.  
You're done! Now just finish off your design.
